TEMPO.CO, JakartaVice President Jusuf Kalla and his wife Mufidah Jusuf Kalla attended President Joko Widodo`s open house reception at Gedung Agung on Saturday.

He arrived at the state palace at around 11:40am to exchange Eid greetings with the president.

The meeting between the two here was the first since the Eid that fell on Wednesday this year.

Vice President Kalla flanked the president along with the Governor of Yogyakarta, Sultan Hamengkubuwono X and wife GKR Hemas, minister/state secretary Pratikno and wife and cabinet secretary Pramono Anung and wife during the exchange of Eid greetings with the people.

This was the first Open House reception held at Gedung Agung attended by around 2,000 locals from various layers of the society.

After exchanging greetings people were led to the food that had been prepared around the north side of the building.

People who were lucky to be present and shake hands with the president admitted they were really happy to have the opportunity.

People had waited in line since 7:30am before the reception opened at 9:30am following the arrival of the president and the first lady.

People applauded on learning that the president had arrived.
