TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-President Joko Widodo is scheduled to inaugurate four task forces to oversee and expedite the implementation of 12 economic policy packages on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at the office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.

“The special task forces were formed under the President instruction. There will be a press conference tomorrow, including [about] their duties,” said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution after a coordination meeting at the Ministry office in Jakarta, Monday, June 27, 2016.

The four tasks forces are Task Force I Policy Campaign and Dissemination, Task Force II Acceleration and Completion of Regulation, Task Force III Evaluation and Impact Analysis, and Task Force IV Case Handling and Resolution.

The vice president advisory board chairman Sofjan Wanandi, also the chairman of Task Force IV, said that Task Force I will announce which regulation in the policy packages have been realized.

“We will announce which short-term [policies] have been successful. There are also medium and long term packages. The successful ones should be sped up and [we will announce] which cases have been resolved. We will give as much information as possible,” Sofjan said.

He explained that the four Task Forces were formed to coordinate and resolve issues that have been hampering the economy and investment. “We have received various complaints. Before the announcement from the President, [we have been handling] many cases. We handle the cases that substantially drive the economy. We will not handle small cases,” Sofjan said.
