Minister Rini: Terminal 3 Ultimate is not Ready

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno denied rumors saying that President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo had instructed Terminal 3 Ultimate of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport to be operational before Eid al-Fitr.

Rini said that Jokowi had not made such instructions. "[Terminal 3 Ultimate] is not yet operational. We have to comply with regulations," Rini told reporters on Monday, June 27, 2016.

Previously on June 18, 2016, the Transportation Ministry announced that Terminal 3 Ultimate will not be ready before Eid al-Fitr.

The Ministry explained that some aspects of the new terminal that are not yet completed, including personnel aviation navigation, compliance documentation and standard operating procedure (SOP) for air telecommunication service and air traffic, and portable power facility.

Rini refused to provide an explanation to why Terminal 3 Ultimate is not ready for operation. Rini also refused to make further comments.

"That is all, thank you," Rini said while leaving the Presidential Palace.
