TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Baharuddin, General Manager of PT Pelindo III Lembar Chapter, West Lombok District, said as many as 18 cruise ships from various countries are scheduled to visit Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) in the first semester of 2016.
“Some 18 ships have been scheduled [to berth in Lombok], I hope there are more to come in the second semester,” Baharuddin told Antara yesterday, May 23, 2016.
He hoped that the cruise ships that berth at Lembar Port, West Lombok District in 2016 could exceed previous year’s figure of 26 ships with 36,000 passengers from various countries.
“I haven’t had any information about any decline in cruise ship visits; there could be some changes in plan and its realization,” Baharuddin said.
The cruise ships passengers will be in Lombok Island, NTB, for a day. They will visit various tourist destinations, such as Senggigi beach, and historical places, such as Narmada Park, and Lingsar Temple in West Lombok District, and West Nusa Tenggara Museum, in Mataram City.
