TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Aviation expert Chappy Hakim said that the immigration incidents experienced by Lion Air and AirAsia is not a small matter.
According to him, both incidents show that aviation industries in Indonesia have not improved.
"This is the first time in the world,” he said in Jakarta on Saturday (21/5).
For the record, on May 2016, Lion Air was in the spotlight once again after foreign passengers on one of its international flights were directed to the domestic terminal at Soekarno-Hatta airport on May 10, almost enabling them to skip immigration checks.
Six days after that, AirAsia ground staff mistakenly drove 47 passengers of flight QZ509 arriving from Singapore at 11.45 p.m. to a domestic terminal at Ngurah Rai Airport.
Chappy added that the advance in technology should also be followed by the development of aviation industries.
He added that airlines must take into account three main aspects: high discipline, tight supervision and law enforcement.
