TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hermanto Dwiyatmoko, Director General of Train Transportation said that the Transportation Ministry will have to make do with whatever budget available following the 10 percent reduction announced in the 2016 Revised State Budget (APBN-P) meeting.
"[The Transportation Ministry's] fund was reduced by 10 percent. Previously, the Ministry was supposed to receive Rp 40 trillion, but later cut down by Rp 3.7 trillion," Hermanto said on Monday, May 2, 2016.
Hermanto asserted that the reduction will certainly affect the Ministry’s working unit, including the Directorate General of Train Transportation. However, Hermanto said that he has no information about the exact amount of funds that will be received by his Directorate General.
"We are still making the calculations," Hermanto said.
The Directorate General of Train Transportation was said to receive Rp 13 trillion in the 2016 State Budget. The number however, will certainly reduce following the State Budget revision.
Hermanto claimed that the reduction will not affect the Ministry's 3,200 kilometers-long railway project expected to be finished in the next five years. Nevertheless, Herrmanto admitted that the Ministry will have to delay unfinished auctions and unsigned contracts.
