TEMPO/Frannoto

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has predicted light showers over the Greater Jakarta region throughout this weekend - with light-to-moderate showers expected to begin on Saturday, April 30, 2016.

According to BMKG analysis, overcast skies are to be expected over the Greater Jakarta region - with some patches of sunny skies, with the exception of the Thousand Islands, where showers should be expected.

Through the afternoon, the weather is expected to shift, with showers predicted over most of South Jakarta, East Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, and Bogor. "The showers will be of a light-to-moderate intensity," stated BMKG.

Temperatures are expected to be slightly lower than average - with daily temperatures to hover between 25-33 degrees Celsius, and humidity reaching 70-96 percent.

As the evening comes, rain has yet to be predicted, but overcast skies will remain over the capital. Evening precipitation is only expected over the Thousand Islands and Bogor - and Bogor residents are warned that most precipitation over the Greater Jakarta region will fall across the area.

Meanwhile in other areas, Bandung residents should expected moderate precipitation throughout the day - with temperatures hovering between 22-30 degrees Celsius.

Light showers have also been predicted over Semarang, Jogjakarta, Sorong, Makassar, Banda Aceh, and Surabaya, while moderate showers are to be expected across Biak, Manokwari, Bengkulu, Jayapura, Ambon, and Merauke.
