TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Pertamina launched new CN51 diesel fuel called Dexlite in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi, Pertamina marketing director Ahmad Bambang said on Friday, April 15, 2016.

“There are 33 gas stations (SPBU) set [to sell Dexlite],” Ahmad added.

The 33 gas stations consist of 27 private-owned and 6 company-owned and company-operated (COCO) fuel stations. Of the total number, 15 are located in Jakarta, and six are each located in other cities.

After the market test, Pertamina has planned to promote Dexlite in Java in May 2016 and market the product in North Sumatera and Kalimantan in June 2016, in South Sumatera and Sulawesi in August 2016, and Papua and Maluku will use Dexlite for the first time in September 2016.

Dexlite is available for Rp6,750 per liter during the market test period. Pertamina has planned to review the price once in two weeks and adjust the price based on conditions in the market.

It is a new diesel fuel with a cetane rating of 51 and 1,200 ppm content of sulfur; its quality is below Dex and above Biosolar.

Dexlite contains 20 percent of Fatty Acid Methyl Eter (FAME) and other additive substances. With such specifications, Dexlite is expected to improve engine’s performance, acceleration and power.
