TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI) admitted that the outcome of the match in the second round of the All England 2016 mishit the target.
"This result should be accepted and the remaining representatives must stay focused in order to achieve the expected target. We accept the failure and take responsibility for this result," said the Head of Development and Achievement of PBSI, Rexy Mainaky, in Birmingham, England, as reported by PBSI in its official statement on Friday, March 11, 2016.
Indonesia put 10 representatives in the premier super series level tournaments. However, only Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto and Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir who were qualified for the quarter-finals.
PBSI lose the target after the defeat of the doubles Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan and Angga Pratama/Ricky Karanda Suwardi in the second round that took place in Birmingham, England, on Thursday evening local time.
Despite the less fortune match in All England 2016, Rexy hope that Indonesian athletes will run hard to reach points in Olympics.
The All England 2016 can be an example of Rio Olympics 2016 following the unexpected moves from underdog rivals.
