Super Tucano Aircraft Crashes in Malang, Three Hospitalized

TEMPO.CO, Malang-Indonesia Air Force’s Super Tucano fighter aircraft crashed in a densely populated area at Jalan LA Sucipto in Blimbing, Malang-East Java, at 10.40 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.
According to Ananda, one of the witnesses whose house is not far from the scene, the aircraft was circling around before finally falling down.
The aircraft, which was based at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Base, had flown for an hour around Malang’s airspace before suddenly dive and crash.
Three victims have been brought to Syaiful Anwar Hospital; they are Major Pilot Ifi, an engineer Syaiful, and a resident named Ny Pujianto. No deaths have been reported.
Meanwhile, Blimbing and surrounding areas are in total traffic jam. Some ambulances and fire trucks are seen heading to the scene.
Abdulrachman Saleh Air Base spokesman Major Sus Hamdi Londong Alu said an aircraft had crashed, but he could not yet provide details on the incident.
The crash site is not far from Abdulrachman Saleh Air Base.
