TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police Headquarter has arrested a man suspected to be involved in the attacks on Jalan Thamrin on Thursday, January 14, 2016. The suspected terrorist, known by the initial R, is allegedly part of a group led by Santoso, leader of the Mujahidin Indonesia Timur organization who is currently being hunted in Poso, Central Sulawesi.
"The man [R] was caught in Bekasi," said Police Headquarters spokesman Sen. Comr. Suharsono on Monday, January 25, 2016.
Suharsono said that R is suspected to be the logistics supplier for the Santoso group. However, Suharsono declined provide further details.
Suharsono said that the police are still conducting investigation to identify R's role in supplying explosives, information, food or firearms.
Previously, the Special Counter-Terrorism Detachment 88 (Densus 88) had caught three suspected terrorists in Poso, Central Sulawesi. One of them was shot dead while two others are still being interrogation.
