TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Special Taskforce for Upstream Oil and Gas Activity (SKK Migas) confirmed that Lapindo Brantas Inc will not be drilling the Tanggulangin 6 and 10 wells in March 2016. SKK Migas said that the drilling permit stipulated in the company's Plan of Further Development (POFD) is still being discussed.
"There might not even be any drilling this year," said SKK Migas chief Amien Sunaryadi on Wednesday, January 13, 2016.
Amien said hadLapindo just submitted its POFD on January 7, 2016, while to discuss a POFD would take a long time because all of its technical, economic and social factors must be studied.
Amien said that the drilling will not proceed as long as the POFD has not been approv. SKK Migas also urged Lapindo to delay site preparation.
In an attempt to compene for the delay, SKK Migas had promised to provide an alternative supply of gas for Lapindo consumers while the gas from the Tanggulangin well will be distributed to fullfill household and industrial gas needs.
