TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-President Joko Widodo said Thursday, November 26, that the government would release the seventh economic policy package in early December.
“There will be [economic package] in the first weeks of December,” Jokowi said after attending the CEO Forum at the Jakarta Convention Center on Thursday.
Jokowi refused to reveal the content or the main focus of the seventh package. However, Jokowi believes that the new package will be well-implemented by ministers and lower officials.
Jokowi added that the central government would continue to ensure the implementation of each economic package by immediately addressing any issues related with the packages.
“I will issue presidential regulations to support the implementation of each package,” he said.
Earlier, Coordinating Economic Minister secretary Lukita Dinarsyah said that the seventh economic policy package was related to tax incentives for labor-intensive industries. In late September, the government provided tax incentives for a number of industries, except the labor-intensive industry. On Monday, Coordianting Economic Minister Darmin Nasution said that the negative investment list (DNI) would be one of focuses in the new economic package.
