TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train will apply a driver-less technology and level IV Safety Index Level from China, according to president director Hanggoro of the state enterprises consortium PT Pilar Sinergi BUMN Indonesia.
“It’s driverless, but there will be drivers who are responsible to open and close doors, monitor passengers and situations,” Hanggoro said Thursday, November 26, 2015.
Hanggoro explained that the Level IV Safety Index Level would not allow accidents caused by human errors.
“The safety index level is the highest standard in the world, and China has been the only country using it. One of the advantages is that all factors are calculated allowing no room for human errors,” he said.
Anggoro added that the train control technology in Indonesia would be started with installations of automatic train protection (ATP), which is a technology that controls train automatically whenever there is an error made by driver. Anggoro revealed that his company would improve human resources involved in the high-speed train construction.
“We will continue to improve the human resources by sending them to schools or taking internship abroad,” Hanggor added.
Hangoro revealed that the groundbreaking of the project was expected to be conducted in April 2016.
