TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Charles Honoris, a member of the House of Representatives from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) fraction said that he will sign the motion of no confidence against Setya Novanto, which has been circulated among House members starting on Monday, November 23, 2015.

Charles was confident that there will be more House members who wanted to include their signature in the motion. "I will sign it today. I am sure that many of my friends in the House [of Representatives] will also sign it. We are ashamed to have a leader like [Setya Novanto]," Charles said on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.

Charles explained that many House members will want to sign the motion because this is not the first time Setya had been scrutinized by the House's Ethics Council.

Charles added that he believed that the motion will have a good effect on the House. "This is just a political pressure. It has no effect on any regulation. Hopefully, Setya Novanto feels ashamed for being the most boisterous House Speaker in the country's history," Charles said.

Speaking on the same note, another member of the PDI-P fraction, Rieke Diah Pitaloka, said that she will definitely sign the motion. Rieke asserted that the motion is reasonable considering Setya's infamous leadership of the House. With numerous incidents and scandals involving Setya, Rieke said that the public had lost more and more confidence in the House’s performance.

"It's about the leadership. The House of Representatives is an institution which the credibility must be maintained. I say change the leader. We still have 559 other members," Rieke said.
