TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Maqdir Ismail, Patrice Rio Capella’s attorney, denied the meeting between his client and Evy Susanti in Marriot Hotel. According to Maqdir, the meeting with the young wife of non-active North Sumatra Governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho only occurred once in Kartika Chandra Hotel.
“None in Marriot Hotel. As far as I know, it only happened in Kartika Chandra once, as admitted by Evy,” Maqdir said in the office of Corruption Eradication Commission, South Jakarta, on Thursday, October 29.
Previously, Maqdir said Evy invited Rio Capella to meet in Kartika Chandra Hotel after the former NasDem Party Secretary General received a Rp200 million bribe from Fransisca Insani Rahesty, who is an intern at OC Kaligis’ Law Office. In the meeting, Evy only expressed her gratitude toward his client.
“She said thank you and said that an agreement has been reached between Tengku Erry and Gatot,” said Maqdir. However, Rio do not know the settlement between the two North Sumatra leaders.
Patrice Rio Capella was set as a suspect after allegedly receiving a Rp200 million bribe for the social aid case, profit-sharing arrears, and capital investment of a number of Regional-Owned Enterprises in North Sumatra. The former House of Parliament Law Commission member was detained Friday, October 23.
