Minister Luhut, Police Coordinate to Hunt Poso Terrorist Group

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjdaitan, held a coordination meeting with the National Police to hunt the remaining members of Santoso-led terrorist group hiding in the mountains of Poso, Central Sulawesi. Luhut admitted that he had received Police reports related to the group's movement.

"We're hunting Poso [terrorist group]. The National Police Chief had reported their movement yesterday," Luhut said at the State Palace on Friday, August 21, 2015.

Luhut added that another meeting would be held to find the group's connection with the recent bombing in Thailand.

Earlier, the National Police sent additional Mobile Brigade personnel to Poso to hunt down Santoso-led terrorist group in Poso, following the death of a police officer during the search.

A member of the Mobile Brigade First Inspector Brayen Theopani was killed during a gunfight on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 with the terrorist group.
