TEMPO.CO, JakartaIn conjunction with the opening of Jakarta Book Fair which held from July 27 to August 3, Jakarta Provincial Government will eliminate transportation tariff for Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) owner.

"We will test the program at this week. All of KJP holders could ride Transjakarta bus for free. Later, the program will be expanded to Kopami and Kopaja. Moreover, all active personnel in Military/Police could also ride Transjakarta for free in future," told Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) in Makodam Jaya Field, Monday (7/27).

Based on Jakarta Education Department's data, the number of KJP recipients is always changing every year because targeting the students who come from poor families. Especially for this year, as many as 489,150 students received KJP.

Basuki said, the poor residents in capital still reached 17 percent or 2.5 million people equal to the number of residents who are single in capital. At the past, the poor families are assessed by the calories assessment. The families who are not able to meet the standards of Rp435,000 of monthly income would be considered poor.

Not only that, Basuki admitted that Jakarta Provincial Government still discussing the Gubernatorial Regulation about cooperation with Military/Police. In the regulation, his sides still discussing about incentive of Rp250,000 per month that will be given to Military/Police in order to improve their performance in maintain security in capital.
