TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Education Agency of Jakarta, Arie Budhiman, said that the agency is to impose sanctions to principal, teacher, and student if violence is involved in admission season. "We impose strict sanction in case of fighting incidents," said Arie on Thursday July 23.
School’s admission season will kick off starting Monday July 27. There are in total of 120,000 students in Jakarta who will go on through three-day orientation from July 27- 29.
In order to suppress violent incidents during orientation season, the agency has issued a letter regulating manners of orientation.
Arie added that violent practice in orientation should all be eradicated. “Even in military or police academy, such practice has been abandoned,” he said. "It’s a different time now."
