TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Yogyakarta administration reviewed regional regulation Number 2/2010 on the city spatial planning, following Yogyakarta State Administrative Court ruling that favored a lawsuit against Kulon Progo Airport development. The court also revoked the Yogyakarta Governor’s decision concerning permits of the airport location.
However, Ni Made Dwi Panti Indrayanti, the head of facilities at the Yogyakarta Regional Development Planning Agency denied that the bill review was related to the ruling.
“It not only related to the airport development, but also others,” Ni Made said on Sunday, adding that the review has lasted for a year.
Earlier on June 23, 2015, the Yogyakarta State Administrative Court led by Judge Indah Tri Haryanti ruled that the Yogyakarta Governor’s decision violated the city’s spatial planning bill since it didn’t define the location of the project. The decision only referred to Kulon Progo spatial planning regulation for the period of 2011-2031.
Kulon Progo Wahana Tri Tunggal (WTT) coordinator Martono insisted on rejecting the airport development despite the government’s plan to review the regulation aiming at passing the project.
“We’re not concerned with the government’s plan. But we will continue to reject [the airport development]. They can find other locations,” Martono said.
The provincial government and PT Angkasa Pura I as the initiator of the project proposed seven locations before deciding Temon coast as the best location. The other locations include Gunung Kidul and Bantul.
