TEMPO.CO, Bekasi – A group of unidentified people robbed an Alfamart minimarket on Jl. Swatantra in Jatirasa sub-district, Jatiasih district, Bekasi early on Tuesday morning, stealing Rp46 million.
“There were four robbers,” said Bekasi Police spokesman Adj. Comr. Siswo on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. He said the perpetrators entered the minimarket at around 12:05 a.m. and suddenly pointed a gun at its employees.
“The minimarket was just closed but [the door] was still open a bit,” Siswo explained, adding that three Alfamart employees—Lia Fitriana (23), Sukarti (23) and Burhanudin (20), and martabak (pancake) seller at the scene—were rendered helpless when the robbers pointed a gun at them.
The robber then took Rp46 million from the cashier and ran away. “They fled toward Pekayon,” Siswo said.
The police are still investigating the case by scrutinizing the footage from the minimarket’s CCTV and cannot confirm the type of the firearm yet.
