TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Intelligent and Investigation Director of the Tax Directorate General Yuli Kristiyono said that findings of fictitious tax invoices in Central Java and Yogyakarta province reached Rp179 billion.

According to Yuli, the findings were based on the analysis of the special task force in charge of dealing with fictitious tax invoice set up by Taxes Directorate General in a number of regions at the end of last year, including in Central Java and Yogyakarta.

“The indication was found in the past few months,” Yuli said in Solo on Saturday (29/5).

According to Yuli, those fictitious tax invoices found are from 290 taxpayers.

The biggest use of fictitious tax invoices happened in I Central Java Regional Tax Office that reached Rp152 billion, while in II Central Java Regional Tax Office, the finding of fictitious invoices reached Rp22 billion. In Yogyakarta Regional Tax Office, the amount of fictitious invoices found reached Rp5 billion.

Yuli further said that the most common method used by the taxpayers was to reduce the amount of transaction, causing the amount of tax that had to be paid smaller than the normal amount.
