TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Nusa Tenggara's (NTB) Anti-narcotics Agency (BNN) said that routine urine checks at the local high court last week had revealed that two prosecutors had tested positive for illicit drugs.
The head of NTB's BNN, Sr. Comr. Mufti Djusnir, said in Mataram on Monday that the urinalysis results belonging to the prosecutors in question will be forwarded to the chief prosecutor to be followed-up.
"These individuals need to be counselled, but the final say really depends on the chief prosecutor," said Mufti.
It is known that NTB's BNN has begun to conduct random urine sampling of local government administrators in order to map and fight the illicit use of drugs within the system. Agencies that have been screened include the Rivers and Waterways Authority, the Agricultural Quarantine Agency, as well as Lembar's Port Authority.
"This is in line with the president's instruction, preventive measures must not only incorporate investigation into known cases, but also persuasive measures to stop people from abusing drugs," said Mufti.
