TEMPO.CO, Denpasar - A renowned theatre group from London, Shakespeare’s Globe, staged old play Hamlet at Ksiarnawa Building, Bali on Sunday, May 24. The show is part of the group’s world tour to celebrate 450th birthday of William Shakespeare which started on April 23.
Before Bali, the group had visited more than 100 countries such as United States, Mexico, Singapore, Sudan, and Uganda.
“The show is free of charge, but we hope people make donation on spot for the program continuity,” said Rama Taharani, the representative of the show organizer.
The play, entitled ‘Globe to Globe Hamlet’ is directed by Dominic Dromgoole, Shakespeare’s Globe artistic director and is a continuation of the gropu’s long-term commitment to introduce William Shakespeare’s classic works to the corners of the worlds, even to places with limited access.
The world tour will end on April 23, 2016 which will be commemoration of 400 years of Shakespeare’s death.
