TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Around 25 visual artists alumni of Indonesia Institute of Art (ISI) Yogyakarta reunited to hold collective art exhibition “Re-Circle89” at Banyu Bening Art House, Borobudur temple complex, Magelang Regency, Central Java.
“The 25 of us graduated from ISI Yogyakarta in 1989, some of us are painters, sculptors and dancers,” said Suitbertus Sarwoko, one of the participating artists and manager of Banyu Bening Art House in Borobudur on Friday, May 22.
Around 25 paintings and sculptures are displayed at the house starting from May 24 to June 24. The event was opened by ISI Yogyakarta rector, Agus Burhan.
In addition to strengthen bond between alumni, the exhibition is also aimed to increase people’s appreciation toward visual art development as well as to take part in Waisak day celebration that falls on June 2.
