Pertamina: Readiness to Launch Pertalite is 90%

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Marketing Director of state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina Ahmad Bambang said that the readiness of the company to distribute a new product called Pertalite in May is almost complete.
“It is 90 percent ready,” Ahmad said on Sunday.
The readiness, he said, includes production, dissemination, launching, and distribution.
According to Ahmad, the company still continued to disseminate the product to the public, especially in Jakarta because the main focus of distribution is Jakarta before other major cities in Java.
At the distribution stage, Ahmad said that the company would distribute around 500 kilo liter of Pertalite per day and afterwards it will be increased into 1000 kilo liter per day.
Ahmad said that one of the barriers in launching the product is related to the permit because as of now, the company is still waiting for approval from the House of Representatives.
“Once we’ve gained approval, we’re going to launch it in May,” Ahmad added.
For the record, PT Pertamina plans to launch Pertaite, which has a higher Research Octane Number [RON] of 90 compared to Premium’s specification of RON 88.
