Slo-Ngawi-Kertosono Toll Road Construction Begins on April 30

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Solo-Ngawi-Kertosono toll road project in Central Java will begin construction on April 30, 2015. "The project is ready to be started," said David Wijayanto, Corporate Secretary of PT Jasa Marga to Tempo on Saturday, April 25, 2015.

The project is part of the Trans Java toll road megaproject that was previously stalled because the developer, PT Theiss Construction Indonesia, was unable to work on the project due to lack of fund. The government then revoked the company's contract and took over the project.

Two state-owned construction companies, Jasa Marga and Waskita Karya, were appointed to develop the project with a total fund of Rp 439 billion as the initial construction budget.

David added that currently, 80 percent of the land acquisition process for the project has been completed and the company hoped that the construction process can be completed in 2017.
