Jokowi Says Indonesia is Ready to Help Quake-stricken Nepal

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo ‘Jokowi’ said that Indonesia ready to send aid to quake-stricken Nepal. However, he said that he would still discuss the aid to be given to the country.
"I just said to the Foreign Affairs Minister that Indonesia is ready to help,” said Jokowi at Halim Perdanakusuma airport on Sunday.
An earthquake measuring 7.8 in Richter scale jolted Nepal on Saturday. The quake also affected capital Kathmandu. The quake was also felt in several cities in northern India, including New Delhi.
It is reported that more than 2,000 people were killed in the quake but the death toll is expected to rise as the rescue efforts are still underway.
In the meantime, Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that there are at least 34 Indonesian nationals were in Nepal when the quake struck. As many as 17 people have been confirmed to have survived the quake.
