TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Hotel and Restaurant Association (BPD PHRI) of West Java, Herman Muchtar, said that the 60th Asia-Africa Conference (AAC) has caused hotel occupancy rates to increase. "However, it only happens in hotels where AAC delegates are staying," Herman said to Tempo.

Herman added that the AAC only has little impact in the hotel business in general. "[The delegates] did not stay overnight. The event only last for a day, [the delegates] come in the morning, and leave in the afternoon," Herman said.

Similar to Herman, Public Relation Manager of PT Kereta Api Indonesia of Operational Area II Bandung, Zunerfin, said that there has not been any increase on ticket reservation for the weekend. "I have not seen significant increase on the list," he said.

Nevertheless, Herman said that the AAC should be considered as an opportunity to promote Bandung. "Both hotels and restaurants need to present the best," Herman said.
