Social Media Companies Eye Indonesia

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of social media corporations plan to open up new representative offices in Indonesia due to massive market potential, including Twitter. Earlier before Twitter, Facebook and Path had stated the same plan last year.
In an interview with Tempo last year, Dan Nary, Vice President of Facebook Asia-Pacific, mentioned that his company plans to establish a representative office in Indonesia in 2015. Dan said that Facebook wants to support micro, small, and medium enterprise in Indonesia.
The statement highlighted the fact that a lot of small businesses have begin to use Facebook as a promotional tool. Indonesia, in particular, is Facebook's fourth biggest market with 65 million users.
Smimilarly, Path Product Manager Shehab Hamad, said that the company is set to establish a representative office in Jakarta in 2015. Indonesia is one of the biggest Path contributors in the world. Path office in Indonesia is expected to be able to boost its operational activities in South East Asia.
