TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Traffic flow at Jagorawi toll road was hampered due to a massive protest by local villagers at the KM 21, on Saturday, March 21, 2015. The villagers were protesting about a broken pedestrian bridge that was overpassing the toll road. The bridge had long been broken, but there had not even a slight of repair for it.
According to information obtained from an Call Center officer of NTMC Korlantas Polri, Ayu Sofiadewi, the protesters entered the toll road and disrupted the traffic flow until it stopped completely. At 03:00pm, the protesters had leave the site, but they were still seen hanging around the toll road. "So there is still congestion left," she said.
Ayu explained that long queue of cars could be seen starting from the front of the rest area located at KM 21, which strecthed far until KM 27. Many cars had not been able to continue their journeys to Bogor because a number of protesters were still blocking the road. Those who want to drive their cars to Bogor today is recommended to take the regular road, which is the Jalan Raya Bogor, instead of the toll road.
