TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of Jakarta Metro Police, Inspector General Unggung Cahyono, said that the police have arrested a person who was suspected to be behind the bomb threat against Voice of America (VOA) office. The threat itself was made on January 10, 2015.
Unggung said that the suspect was arrested in Medan. "He is still a minor, and [the threat] was meant only for a prank," he said. Therefore, Unggung said that the suspect was brought to the Child Protection Commission in Medan.
Previously, VOA Indonesia CEO, Frans Padak Demon, said that his office received a bomb threat via Facebook. The Setiabudi Precinct Police responded to the terror by deploying a bomb squad. However, no explosives were found in the office area.
