TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Pertamina, through its subsidiary company PT Pratama Mitra Sejati, donated an electric executive luxury car unit to Sepuluh November Institute of Technology as a part of its corporate social responsibilities.
Pertamina President Director Dwi Soetjipto said the assistance was aimed to support the national electric vehicle program.
“We expect that the electric vehicle will help with further research and development,” Dwi said in a press release on Saturday, January 17, 2015.
The electric car was the last of six units given to universities in Indonesia. Pertamina has handed over electric vehicles to five other universities, namely Brawijaya University, the University of Indonesia, Gajah Mada University, Riau University, and Bandung Institute of technology.
Dwi explained that the assistance was a follow up of the State Owned Enterprise Ministry’s Letter Number S-59/S.MBU/4.2013 dated on April 24, 2013 on the Electric Vehicle Development Program.
Pertamina, through its subsidiary company PT Pratama Mitra Sejati, had worked with electric vehicle maker PT Sarimas Ahmadi Pratama to build six Electric Executive Luxury Cars. The cars were displayed at the 2013 APEC summit in Bali.
