TEMPO.CO, Padang – Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin said Tuesday the government would implement the electronic hajj (e-hajj) program in 2015 in order to collect data of hajj pilgrims in a more organized way.
The data include names, addresses and lodgement in Medina and Mecca.
The government will also prioritize those who have not gone on hajj pilgrimage as hajj quota for 2015 may be smaller.
“Reduction of 20 percent of the quota will take effect next year because the capacity of Masjidil Haram is limited due to renovation,” he said.
He added that if there were still some quotas left due to sick or deceased would-be piligrims, the government would prioritize the elderly to fill those quotas.
