Bogor Laundry Worker Arrested for Selling Drugs

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Santi, 34-year-old woman, a laundry worker from the district of Bogor, was arrested by the police for selling drugs.  The Bogor City Police Resort suspected Santi in continuing her ex-husband’s drugs business. Her husband is now currently doing his jail time in Karawang penitentiary.

“Six pack of methamphetamines were confiscated from the suspect, hidden under her pile of clothes in the bedroom drawer,” Chief of Bogor City Police Resort, Ajun Kombes Irsan, said on Tuesday, November 25.

The suspect is a housewife who supplies methamphetamines to females residents in the city of Bogor.  The suspect’s husband was a drug dealer sentenced to 10-year jail time , Irsan said.

“Santi  received drug supplies from someone who is controlled by her ex-husband through a telephone call from inside the penitentiary,” Irsan said.

Chief of Drug Division of Bogor City Police Resort, First Inspector Maulana Muktarom, said other than arresting Santi, the police have also arrested 26 other suspects within the last three weeks.  “There have been 21 cases handled within the last three weeks with 27 suspects.  We have confiscated 24 kilograms of cannabis and 57 grams of methamphetamines,” he said.
