TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) urged residents of the Jakarta to brace themselves as the rainy season is expected to peak in December.
Jakarta BPBD Head Bambang Musyawardana said that the intensity of the rain would be higher and the rain would be heavier.
He also said that the peak of the rainy season would last for two moths, starting in the third week of December until early February.
Regarding to possibility to modify the weather to prevent Jakarta from being flooded, Bambang said that the Jakarta BPBD cannot ensure that yet. According to Bambang, the decision (to modify the weather) completely rests on the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) and BPBD can only wait.
