TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Suryo Bambang Sulistio, head of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed Franky Sibarani’s appointment as the new head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). Bambang said Franky, who previously served as the secretary general of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo), considered that Franky knew how to address problems in investment affairs.

“As an Apindo official, he is more than familiar with the investment world, business owners’ expectations, and the problems in it,” Bambang told Tempo on Saturday, November 22, 2014.

Bambang hopes that Franky, as the new head of the BKPM, would be able to improve the investment climate in Indonesia. He added that the APEC summit attended by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has made Indonesia become the center of the attention. Bambang hopes that the BKPM would be able to get benefits from the momentum and create investment opportunities in Indonesia.

Cabinet secretary Andi Widjajanto said President Jokowi has also appointed Nusron Wahid as the new head of the Agency for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI). According to Andi, both Nusron and Franky will be inaugurated next week.
