TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Novak Djokovic won ATP Tour in a no-contest game, after Roger Federer had decided to back down from the final due to an injury. Federer, supposedly Djokovich’s adversary in the final, had announced that he could not play due to back injury, 30 minutes before the match was supposed to begin.
Previously, Federer defeated Stanislas Wawrinka in the semifinal which lasted for nearly three hours. The victory turned out to be disastrous for Federer as he injured his back.
The announcement came as a surprise as spectators had spent a lot of money to watch the game. Moreover, Djokovich also regretted Federer’s injury, saying that he was not expecting such kind of victory.
