TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Election Organization Ethics Council (DKPP), Jimly Asshiddiqie said the polarization of two political forces within the House of Representatives (DPR) that continues to happen must end as it is not in line with the political dialogues done by elites of the two sides.

Among the dialogs are meeting between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) Prabowo Subianto on October 17, meeting between President Joko Widodo with Speakers of the House of Representatives (DPR) on October 26, and the later meeting between Vice President Jusuf Kalla with head of the National Mandate Party's (PAN) advisory council Amien Rais on Wednesday, October 29, 2014.

"Efforts made by the political elites should have been followed-up by dialogs by the two sides. As the people, we all have moral responsibility to push for that,” Jimly said.

In the meantime, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Taufik Kurniawan on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 said that currently, DPR is no longer in divided by Prabowo Coalition and Jokowi Coalition.

Jokowi, Taufik said, has become President for all Indonesian people since his inauguration.

"Political communications between Prabowo, Hatta Rajasa, Aburizal Bakrie and Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla have gone well. Therefore, we are now building a stronger check and balances system,” Taufik said.

Taufik added that it is time for the government and the DPR to work together, instead of prolonging the divisions that can put the people’s interest at stake.

"Frankly, we are optimistic because political communications have gone relatively well. They have also been constructively built between the government and the DPR. There are no more problems. It means we want to work earnestly for the people,” Taufik said.

DPR, Taufik said, would give its full support for the programs implemented by Jokowi’s administration.
