TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Airforce confirmed that they have forced down a trespassing airline from Singapore. "The plane consist of one pilot and two flight students," said Pontianak Airfield Spokesman Major Dwi Indro.
The Straits Times reported that the C90GTi King Air plane owned by Singapore Technologies (ST) Aerospace and operated by its pilot training arm, Pacific Flight Services, was subsequently instructed to land in Pontianak, West Kalimantan.
Dwi said that the plane was piloted by flight instructor Tan Chin Kian, along with two of his students Xiang Bohong and Zheng Chen. "They were practicing, but having no clearance," he said.
The plane, having sighted in Indonesian radar, was under pursuit by two fighter jets Sukhoi. After forced to land in Pontianak, it is currently docked at Pontianak, awaiting further instruction following the result of investigation.
This is the second incident of trespassing plane in the past couple of weeks. Previously, a plane of Australian pilots was forced to land for having no flight clearance.
