TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - British rock band Arkarna is confirmed to perform at the "Syukuran #Salam 3 Jari" concert that will be held to celebrate the inauguration of president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo this morning. The band that has been supporting Jokowi since the general election is coming to Indonesia on own expense to congratulate the new president.
"Can proudly announce that we are honoured to perform for @jokowi_do2 at his Inauguration celebrations. Get ready Indonesia!!#BackFor7okowi," the band tweeted on their official account.
The concert coordinator Jay Wijayanto said the organizer initially intended to invite the band using the fund collected from volunteers. But upon receiving the invitation, the band manned by Ollie Jacobs, James Barnett, Lalo Crome, and Bid Beresford was willing to come and refused to be paid.
After the inauguration at the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) building in Senayan, South Jakarta, the new president and vice president will be attending the folk party held by volunteers at the National Monument (Monas).
