TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Functional Group (Golkar) Party Faction chief Ade Komaruddin stated that his party is preparing amendments of more than 100 bills that will be proposed in the 2015 National Legislation Program.
Ade explained that the revision proposal has been mulled by Golkar involving a number of experts and academicians. Ade also said that those experts and academicians considered that some of the bills were too liberal and not in line with the constitution.
One of the bills, related to banking industries, allows 100 percent foreign ownership. In addition, some of the bills are hindering the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM).
“No more protection for UMKM. If we didn’t do anything, they will fall to the rock bottom,” Ade said.
According to Ade, the bills are products of the reform era. The developing democracy has affected the regulations that adopted free trade system.
Ade explained that the plan has been discussed with other factions under Prabowo Subianto’s coalition. They agreed with the plan and suggested revisions for the National Legislation Program.
“Of course, we can’t discuss them all at once. Only the priorities are to be revised,” Ade said without revealing the list of the bills.
