RI Export Rises by 2.43 Percent in August

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Central Statistics Agency (BPS) head Suryamin said Indonesia’s export value in August 2014 reached US$14.48 billion, increasing by 2.48 percent compared to the figure in July 2014.
“Compared to [the export value] in August last year, there is an increase of 10.13 percent,” Suryamin said on Wednesday, October 01, 2014, at his office.
According to Suryamin, the export volume of several commodities have increased, including automotive products with 28.45 percent increase in July-August period. Cumulatively, vehicle exports in the first eight months of 2014 rose by 12.36 percent year-on-year.
In addition, exports of mechanical engines and chemical products recorded positive growth, accumulating to US$117.42 billion in January-August 2014.
In July 2014, the export value reached US$14.18 billion, down by 6.03 percent compared to the figure in July 2013. Compared to June 2014, the export value dipped by 7.99 percent.
