TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Telecommunications and Informatics Tifatul Sembiring said that he will remain working in the IT sector in Indonesia. "I will help escort IT development," Tifatul told Tempo. Tifatul will step down from his post on October 1 because he has been elected as member of the Commission I of the House of Representatives.
He added that Indonesia politics knows no opposition, given the number of matters that need to be decided by both the government and parliament, "such as State budget." Regardless, Tifatul said that he will not join Jokowi's administration. "We are on the other side, but we accept our defeat like a gentleman," he said.
Tifatul said that he has filed his resignation to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on mid September. 'The Presidential clearance will be given on September 30," he said.
