TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri has said that the president elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo should not be left alone in managing the government because what he is working on is a part of Bung Karno's Tri Sakti doctrine [(The Three Powers): "Political sovereignty, economic independence and national character"].
During her speech at the opening of the party's National Working Meeting (Rakernas) in Semarang yesterday, she also praised Jokowi's leadership; one of them is his blusukan (impromptu visit) style. "I personally see all corners of the country welcome blusukan that was carried out by Jokowi."
The former president uttered blusukan presents the atmosphere of people's everyday lives. Moreover, in the ideology concept, it should become a political tradition that brings power to the center of people's problems. "With blusukan, leaders attend and organize people," Mega added.
The presence of leaders amongst residents is an important method for the implementation of mental revolution that will be carried out by the party when it becomes the ruling party starting October 20, 2014.
