TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Belgian international Eden Hazard will be the highest paid Chelsea player, after renewing his contract for the next five years. The Telegraph reported that Hazard will be receiving 200,000 pounds per week, higher than new stars in Blue - Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa.
Having paid 200,000 pounds per week, Hazard’s payment is as the same as that Manchester United’s captain Wayne Rooney, notably the highest in Premier League. Prior to renewing his contract, Hazard’s contract was supposed to end on 2017. However, Chelsea insist to renew the contract, given that Paris Saint-Germain keep targeting the playmaker.
Nevertheless, the high payment comes with a great pressure as Hazard will still have to compete with other Chelsea midfielders.
