TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Brand Holder Agent (APM) Yutong for Indonesia, PT Korindo Motors (Korindo), has been demanded responsibility after the burned-down incident of a TransJakarta bus at Al Azhar bus stop yesterday morning.
"The incident is still under the responsibility of Korindo. They are responsible until 2015," said Head of TransJakarta Service Unit Agency, Pargaulan Butarbutar yesterday. Korindo is TransJakarta's double-decker importer.
Korindo is mandatory to guarantee the engine’s vehicle for one year since the date of purchase, which is from 2013. There are still 30 bus units that are under PT Korindo’s warranty. "Therefore, after this incident, we requested PT Korindo to inspect other Yutong brand TransJakarta buses. Tomorrow, technicians from Korindo will start the check-ups," Pargaulan said in a statement.
In the meantime, TransJakarta management will not be operating the 30 Yutong-brand buses. "I recalled the units from the field to be re-inspected," Pargaulan said.
Although the burned down TransJakarta bus has damaged the whole body of the bus, TransJakarta has not been willing to request a new bus from Korindo. "We haven’t thought about asking for a replacement," Pargaulan said.
Pargaulan refused to mention the amount that were lost due to the incident.
