TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bekasi City government will revitalize several parks in 2016 because the condition of the parks are deteriorating. “The width and quality of the parks must be improved,” said Hudi Wijayanto, secretay of the Bekasi Garden, Cemetery and Public Street Lighting Agency, on Monday.
So far, Bekasi only has one park open for public, which is located around Bekasi terminal, Juanda Street, East Bekasi. The width and quality are also poor.
Some parks located along protocol and city roads are also not in a good condition. Ahmad Yani Street does not even have a green lane. “There needs to be revitalization in Bekasi City,” said Hudy the fund for park maintenance is Rp1 billion.
Hudi added that the Bekasi City government is making parks in settlements. He asked all housing developers to develop social and public facilities to be turned into parks. “Settlements and government offices need development,” he said.
