TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Yadhya Kasada ceremony, a rite done by Tengger tribe in Mount Bromo, East Java to celebrate saka new year 1634 last week have drawn tourist attention. The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park recorded 15 thousand tourists from around Indonesia flooded the annual event.
“There are around one hundred of foreign visitors, the rest came from around here,” said Ayu Dewi Utari the Head of BTNBTS said in Malang on Saturday.
On regular holidays, the tourism spot Bromo-Tengger-Semeru are visited by 1,500 to 2,000 tourists. Besides witnessing the traditional rite Kasada, the tourists were also getting the chance to see the sea of sand and Penanjakan area to get a view of sunrise at the Bromo crater.
On weekdays, domestic tourists are charged Rp27,500 while foreign tourists are charged Rp217,500 per person to get into Bromo. The ticket price is higher on weekends, which is Rp32,500 for domestic tourist and Rp317,500 for foreign tourist.
