TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Selamat Nurdin, the chairman of the Jakarta Legislative Council’s (DPRD) Commission C overseeing financial and economic affairs, said the capital would earmark Rp400 billion to procure 100 double-deckers this year.
“PT Transjakarta has been appointed for the bus procurement,” Nurdin told Tempo on Thursday, August 14, 2014, adding that the buses would be purchased through an e-catalogue mechanism.
Nurdin said the council had sanctioned the procurement program, which was deemed as one of the city administration’s top priorities this year. He added the council had given a green light to the Jakarta administration for immediate purchase of the buses.
The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) politician, however, called for meticulous calculation by the city administration as to how many buses it required, given that the buses would be operated free of charge for the public.
Earlier, the director of city-owned bus operator PT Transjakarta, Antonius N.S. Kosasih, said the double-deckers his company planned on purchasing had already been listed by the Government Procurement Regulatory Body (LKPP). “The [bus] price listed by LKPP is of course the unit price,” he said.
